~10 of Pentacles overturned ~
This card is a mark for stability that is present and grandiose. Pentacles are all about the tangible foundations in your life: career, funds, savings, cars, property and family are all examples. When the 10 of Pentacles appears overturned it shows a significant change in where you value your most supported self. Something has changed or needs to be changed. This could include discovering your career path is not fulfilling in the slightest, realizing your most trusted relationships are actually manipulative, or the recognition that the foundation you are creating is not considered traditional. These are only examples, however as a whole this card represents an altered perspective of every tangible thing going “right.”
~ 8 of Wands overturned ~
Wands are all about passions, drive, and action. The 8 of wands is one of the fastest cards in tarot besides The Chariot. When it appears overturned it quite literally is begging you to slow down. A reminder that when you need to rest or pause on something that feels like it’s moving too quickly, you can and probably should. Listen to your body if you are feeling anxiously pushed towards something especially if it’s unexpected.
~ Temperance upright ~
As the angel depicts tossing water between two cups, this card is all about finding balance. Encouraging you to rearrange priorities in a way that moves you forward towards your goals while still being rooted in the present. It is a good time to make some room for what you love to do. Get coffee with a friend, meditate and journal, make time for a movie night, or go for a walk. Whatever suits your fancy and reminds your body that you’re there to take care of it and push it into the future.
~ The Devil overturned ~
The Devil here is bound under a relentless moon. In tarot The Moon is a card that can represent paranoia and anxiety, so being bound underneath those is a reference to being held back by yourself. Standing in your own way or keeping yourself restrained by toxic patterns and behaviors. When the devil appears reversed it is referencing breaking this bondage and ties. For those who it may affect, this card can also specifically refer to breaking off toxic relationships and those who interfere with your personal growth.
~ Knight of Swords overturned ~
Knights are cards that depict movement, and the Swords are all about communication, thought, and information. The Knight of Swords is a blunt and impulsive communicator as he stumbles to do what he believes is righteous and true. When he appears overturned he warns you that though you don’t need to stop, slowing down will provide more thoughtfulness and intention to your plans and how you communicate with others.
~ Overall Spread ~
There was a change to longterm plans, potentially drastic or something that entirely alters everything you have been working on and towards. The rush of movement and anxiety in this is quick moving and as it becomes overwhelming you’re choosing or need to choose to slow down and care for the anxious internal spiral as you continue to move about your next steps. Not succumbing to chaos entirely while inviting in change will force you to become more intentional with your planning even if the change came about in a moment of chaos.
~ Clarity Questions ~
Clarifying what the 10 of Pentacles overturned is describing and what changes the future is promising. What is this life altering event, decision, experience? And what will come of this choice?
4 of Swords, Wheel of Fortune, Page of Cups:
All are upright, and combined they acknowledge that the change was of your own recognition and intuition. Something in you fully relaxed into the finality of wanting to change the direction you’re headed in. The decision you made was simply because it feels right.
Strength Overturned, Page of Swords Upright, 9 of Wands Overturned:
This change is going to force you to release the tight grip you have on your control, your perfectionism, and your high expectations. It’s going to show you just how much can go right when you just do what feels good, regardless of logic. Logically speaking, when you may not be so much of a go with the flow person, this experience is going to force you to become one.
